Trophy Lake Golf Course is a unique experience because it not only offers a fun and challenging golf course, but for a fee, you can grab a fly rod from the pro shop and track trophy sized lunkers in one of their well-stocked trout ponds. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve not been anywhere else where you can choose between a green fee or a fly rod. Pretty cool. Anyway, I’ve played Trophy Lake a couple of times and recommend it without hesitation. The conditioning is good, the wildlife and scenery are typical of Kitsap Peninsula golf courses and the amenities are first class. The layout provides plenty of variety, including a couple of memorable holes. My favorite is the par-5 18th hole. It's long enough but reachable with a good drive. However, a pond fronts the green creating a risk-reward decision that can result in an eagle, or an untimely “other”. It’s one of the better finishing holes around.
