I've played Sudden Valley Golf Course many times as I used to live across the street. It is one of my favorite layouts statewide! The front nine is flat and relatively open as it meanders around the shores of Lake Whatcom. The back nine alternatively plays along the hillside overlooking the lake. Tight fairways, elevation changes, and tall timber all await. Overall Sudden Valley gives one the feeling of playing two distinct golf courses. The greens are well manicured and generally roll true.
