GW Notes: If panoramic views of Mt. Baker and a course layout that offers tee shots off of near cliffs, then Shuksan Golf Club is for you. I’ve played Shuksan several times and like most I’m sure, played better the more familiar I became with the course. Big elevation changes, both uphill and down, blind approach shots, combined with fairway bunkers, and cattail filled ponds, make a little course knowledge more than useful at Shuksan. In addition to a unique layout the course conditioning is above average, especially in the dryer months. A small driving range and practice putting green are also provided. The food and beverage at Shuksan is worth the visit alone. The Bistro at Shuksan offers great food, and an outside patio sports spectacular views of the aforementioned Mt. Baker. Live music is performed regularly so if golf is not your deal, Shuksan is a fun choice for a night out. Thoughts on your Shuksan experience are welcome below.
