GW Notes:  I've played Lopez Island Golf Course and for a volunteer run facility, it's worth a play. It's a 9-hole layout with different tees allowing for an 18-hole feel. It's not overly long, but tightish fairways and small greens force your attention. Because it is maintained by volunteer members, my expectations were relatively low. To my surprise the overall condition was much better than anticipated. I was pleasantly surprised! This bodes well as it is the only golf course on Lopez Island and I'm happy to recommend it.
