GW Notes:I've played Loomis Trail Golf Course several times and while it beat me up once or twice, I don't hesitate to recommend you give it a play. It first operated as a private facility but was later opened for public play. At one point Loomis Trail was rated as one of the more difficult layouts in Washington. Although it has been softened a bit, the back tees will still test even the most accomplished players. The layout is fun yet challenging. A combination of straightaway holes, along with doglegs, and target golf, forces the use of most clubs in your bag. Water, bunkering, forest and native grasses all have an appetite for errant golf balls. But if the greens are reached without much pain, the putting surfaces are true, and a score can be had. While it's not a great choice for beginners or families, Loomis Trail offers a pure golf experience for those wanting to test their game.
