GW Notes:  I've not played Eagles Pride Golf Course. Since it's a military operated facility open to the public, you can bet your M-16 that it's kept in excellent condition. Their website says the following: "Eagle's Pride is a treasure of the Pacific Northwest, nestled in the shadow of magnificent Mount Rainier. It's one of the best courses in Western Washington and is open to the public. With its impressive design and perfectly groomed layout, this 27-hole championship course features exceptional greens, manicured fairways and forgiving rough with tee boxes designed for all levels of golfers." Sounds impressive and makes me want to make a tee time. If you've played Eagles Pride, please drop a note in the comments below.

This is my favorite course in the area. If you cannot keep your drives straight, this course will add lots of strokes to your score. It is very well maintained. There are some nice elevation changes dotted throughout the course including the hole in the picture above (one of my favorite holes). The fairways are lined with thick trees and undergrowth which means there is a high likelihood you will not find your ball if you hit into the trees. The greens are good size, but challenging. Greens covered in shade from the trees will roll quite a bit different from the ones basking in the sun. The normal 18 holes played in the dry months are the red and blue 9s. Great, fun, and challenging 18 holes. In the wet months, the blue is replaced by the green 9. I don’t care for the green as it is rather straight, flat, and boring. There was a time this course was ranked in the top 10 of the state (according to my uncle). Highly recommend this course during the dry months. You won’t regret it…
